Nail of The Day: Essie's A Cut Above!

Fall is coming to a close, so I thought I would try something a little more wintery on my nails this week. I ended up choosing Essie's A Cut Above from their new luxeffects collection!

Essie's A Cut Above!

This is a beautiful polish that has a ton of muted pink glitters in it. I do have to say that the glitter is hard to take off, but it lasts for over 2 weeks. I had to do a base coat of Essie's Fiji to make the colors all really pop, but I think that this look is perfect for the holiday season. It looks exactly like peppermint! I love glitter for this month and I will definitely use this polish with a bunch of different base coats.

Happy 26 more days until Christmas! :)

Outfit of The Day: 11/20/11

Hey everyone! A couple days ago, it was Deeksha's birthday. If you don't know who she is, she is my best friend who I talk about a TON in my videos! We did a little photo shoot outside of my house so I decided I would share some pictures and tell you what I was wearing, because the outfit was super cute!

What I'm Wearing:
Shirt-Old Navy
Tank Top-Wet Seal
Scarf-Burlington Coat Factory
Shorts-Forever 21
Leggings-Burlington Coat Factory
Boots-DSW

I originally had a peacoat on from Burlington, but I took it off so you could see the entire outfit. I really love this for fall and it is super comfy! This is also a great way to incorporate your summer clothes into fall clothes by pairing shorts with leggings. This method still keeps you super warm and cozy!

Would you try this trend?

Nail of The Day: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia!

For my first blog post, I thought it would be fitting to do a NOTD! The polish I'm wearing is Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia from their glitter collection. I was instantly drawn to this color while shopping at Target a couple days ago. I had never owned a polish that had such chunky glitter, so I thought I would give it a try. The polish has all different sizes of glitter ranging from small to large which really adds a full effect to the polish. Keep in mind, this polish is best used as an overlay over a similar colored polish. For my base color, I used Revlon's Sugar Plum from their Top Speed collection.

Revlon's Sugar Plum
I absolutely love this color not only because it dries extremely fast, but because it is a good quality nail polish that wears for about a week and a half without chipping! It is a shimmer polish, which gives a really nice shine to your nails. After that color dried, I applied Facets of Fuchsia.

As you can see, there is a lot of chunky glitter in the polish which I actually like. With a lot of polishes, the glitter is very hard to remove when taking off your polish. Also, the glitter never covers your nails fully so it leaves streaks of no color. That is one problem with this polish which is why I had to apply a base coat. Although the polish has a slight black sheen embedded with the glitter, streaking still occurs. But in all, this polish is absolutely beautiful and great for the holidays!

Here are some shots of the polish on my nails:

No flash, 2 coats
Gorgeous, right?! I love this polish so much and it is definitely worth purchasing. And also, to top it all of I added this quick-dry coat from Revlon to add some shine and strength to my nails. This coat is optional, but I just like the finish it creates.

Keep checking back for more NOTD posts and much, much more! :)
